Mediterranean Tours & Travel (MT&T) was founded by Dr. Karl Kilinski for the purpose of bringing small groups of individuals together for a common educational experience in exotic lands. Since 1977, Dr. Kilinski has organized and conducted educational tours to a select list of destinations, each of which offers unique scenery, art and architecture, and vivid culture from civilizations long past. Lectures are presented on the sites and in museums, as well as on certain evenings in the hotels or aboard ship, in order to present the participant with a solid understanding of the cultural context in which these monuments were created centuries ago. The trips also focus on various aspects of the modern culture that now envelopes the remnants of the old, so that a full experience of the land is appreciated.
Trips to sub-Saharan countries focus on the zoological and anthropological offerings indigenous to these regions of Africa, so that the participant encounters both the animal and tribal life of the area while absorbing the breathtaking natural beauty of the terrain. The timing of all these trips is correlated to the most advantageous season for visitation in an endeavor to benefit from the best climatic and tourist situations.
Many of these destinations visited are logistically challenging for individuals or couples, so that the long-term familiarization of these countries by Dr. Kilinski and the firm commitment of reputable native personnel contracted by Mediterranean Tours & Travel in each area is brought to bear for every tour. This is engineered, often behind the scenes, so that the participant can fully enjoy the pleasures of the trip without concern for potential disruptions, delays, cancellations or other mishaps for which those unfamiliar with the specifics of accommodations, transportation, distances, and other logistics are likely to encounter frustration and/or disappointment.
Often over the years various institutions of higher learning, universities and museums have co-sponsored tours organized by MT&T due to the educational nature of these experiences, but regardless of affiliation all tours are organized and conducted in the same spirit of perfection and dedication to the participants' optimum experience.
